1997 film was lame cuz it was mostly Spawn using guns. Dude has magic powers.

Same. McFarlane has been talking shit about a new animated since '05, and has supposedly been 'done' since 2010, and a second live action since 2000.

I'm a huge Spawn fan, but McFarlane's word literally means nothing to me at this point.

Spawn mostly relying on his military skills and conventional weaponry is nothing new. Try reading up on the character next time.

Also, CGI in that film was bad enough already, as you must remember.

Macfarlane is over rated and I really don't think He could do anything even CLOSE to a Decent Job in the Directors or Writing Chairs when it comes to a movie. Even one of his own characters.
