Nope, it's a very simple concept.
Thing and others just have brute strength, same for most Wendigo hosts. Your comparison would work if they didn't have similar powersets. Meaning their power/strength levels can be very comporable as they don't have any external power source they can draw upon or use. If this was Mauvais Wendigo he would be one of the most powerful people here. However, for this point those who don't have energy attacks and just have brute strength and thus can be compared.
This is like complaining we can't declare a victor in the weight lifting competition as their all different. Clearly one is more stronger then others, so characters like Thing do you feel is more powerful/stronger then Wendigo?
