THUS, Thor can resist transfiguration!!!!!!!
WOOT WOOT!

Rob? Black? Silent? You guys agree? 😉
Well, The Destroyer's attack is magical in nature, so the hammer is obviously resistant to magical attacks. 😮💨

Illogical: disintegration is not a magical ability that transmutes matter.

I agree: disarming Thor would be a waste of time. In fact, I'd err on the side of the disarming spell not working since only Thor or Odin can wield the hammer. I think anti-wielding/forcing Thor to lose the hammer is similar enough to the rule about being able to hold the hammer that it would disbar a wizard from directing the ownership of the hammer out of Thor's hands.
However, a spell that causes Thor to relinquish the hammer, rather than directing a spell at the hammer itself, may work.

Incorrect. Destroyer is magical annndd...
And by definition, transmutation is:
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/transmute
Transmute
v.tr.
To change from one form, nature, substance, or state into another; transform: Alchemists tried to transmute lead into gold. See Synonyms at convert.
And if you think turning a giant into dust isn't "changing from one form, nature, substance, or state" then we gots nothin to talks about, buddy.
WOOT WOOT!

I don't know if you tried on purpose but you just proved me right and you wrong. Magical transmutation is not chemical transmutation. Causing a chemical reaction that breaks down a substance into carbon and vaporizing other elements is hardly transmutation. If you want it to mean something else, cool: but it clearly does not mean to turn solids into gases, pull the coke out of steel, and vaporize the iron.

Proof that the Destroyer beam is a chemical reaction? 😮💨
It's a magical beam that changes one matter into another (giant to ash).
Magical. Transumatation.
Check. Mate.
Hey, by definition, it is, if you have an issue with that, I suggest you take it up with the ppl who put together the dictionary. Or maybe make your own dictionary.

Has a nice ring to it.

Proof that the destroyer beam caused anything but real-world physics reactions?

Not magical, not transmutation.

By definition, it is not. Let me know when transmutation, in the marvel universe, means just chemical reactions, bro.
Check mate, game, set, and match.
So why are we arguing this irrelevant point of yours that has nothing to do with the original post of my you quoted? Refresh my memory, again?
😆 Are people really trying to compare Thor "advanced alien science which at best allows flying and lightning strikes" magic with HP "transmutation of matter at whim" magic? Even if Thor's science could be counted as "magic", it's clearly magic on a far different (and much lower) level.
And so what? Even if the Destroyer was "magic", it's puny beam is shit compare to what one spell of Fiendfyre could cause. If that's the Thorverse's best show of magic, then they are in trouble indeed if that's what they are relying on to defend themselves

Sorry, doesn't work that way. You made the assertion that it is a chemical reaction/real world physics. You present the proof that it is.

Only if you use your trust "dadudemon-book-of-what-I-want-words-to-mean-so-I-can-win-debates" dictionary. I'll need a mod ruling to accept this as fact, tho.
Only if by "mated" you allowed me to mount you from behind. 😮💨

So where is the evidence that Thor's hammer as anti-transfiguration shielding charms? It should be obvious that Thor's hammer can be transfigured: it just changes the molecules.
Destroyer = magical
Gungir = magical
Disintegration = "changes" the molecules, too.
All above = magical transmutation by your own definition
Thus, Thor and Mjolnir resisted transmutation on screen. Thus no-go on your transmute win theory.
WOOT WOOT!

Didn't they need a Einstein-Rosen Bridge to get here? Pretty sure you would only use those if you were from another part of the universe, and thus an extraterrestrial. And in the Avengers, didn't Loki say Thor used dark matter (probably referring to negative mass exotic mater) once again suggesting an Einstein Rosen Bridge? Evidence points to Thor just being a really advanced alien. He's like a more rugged Superman of his universe.

According to the movie, it is magic.
yea that was it.
If you look at that and Lokis abilities, the enchantment on on the hammer, and the serious lack of knowledge about technology loki and thor both have its clearly magic.
Because if it was all science please explain to me why Loki needed a "primitive" earthling scientist to build the machine to summon his army. It would have been far easier for himself to build it.
