It could be a good movie but that won't make me gravitate towards the characters. I know what I like and enough about the two. Rest assured. You and your wild predictions. You hate this you bandwagon that. You're frequently proven wrong but won't stop with the wild accusations.

Correct. The previews have given me nothing to believe that MoS will be terrible, so I'm naturally going in thinking it will be good. If it happens to suck, oh well.

On the other hand, you've already condemned this movie to being shit despite killer previews and positive reviews, oh great biased clown.

Pretty much.

I never said it would suck.

You hate the hero, you think the main villain is horrible and you hate the actor who's playing the main villain, yet you think MoS will be a great movie(all your words). Do you ever listen to yourself?

The #1 hating bandwagon-boi of KMC using more "no you!" tactics. Cute.

I liked Search for Spock as cheesy as it was. Christopher Lloyd as a Klingon was lolz.

Here's the facts. After the 1st film they tolerated each other and had a grudging mutual respect for each other. By not even the end of the 2nd movie Spock, a Vulcan who showed no immediate emotion when his own mother died and his entire species was almost destroyed, yet he loses his shit and goes into a cry rage over Kirk straight away.

Needs context between movies to have built up their friendship to warrant that. Simple fact.

Agreed. The friendship was built over like the best part of 20 years in Wrath of Khan. With so little history (one year) between Kirk and Spock, it does seem a little forced in the context of STs XI and XII.

It is nice to see other people agreeing with the points I made earlier. I thought I was going to be raked over the coals for that.

The originals have better acting in most cases, better writing in most cases...

Yup. I would even add that the humor was better, for the most part, in the older Trek movies.

Also, STFU about shit not related to this film. Talk about that vs. forum bullshit elsewhere. 313

Makes sense to me he's more emotional after the first movie.

There's only so much death he can take, His Mother, His Home Planet, and now

Spoiler:
His Best Friend.

This is going to struggle to get past $400mill:

Yes, because I am objective. The trailer seems like its going to be a good movie. I can still hate the hero and not care for main villain actor but still enjoy the movie. You predicting ill jump all over this is untrue and I won't say the movie sucks out of bias. I'm as objective as it gets.

1) You're a silly bastard with your "I hate the hero and I hare the villain, but I'll like MoS anyways" rants.

2) Stop derailing this Into Darkness thread with your MoS rants.

That doesn't mean the movie sucks if I don't think either is cool. They can stil serve the plot. You don't have to think a charcacter is cool to think a film is good.

Quit responding.

Not a matter of "thinking a character is cool", you outright hate the hero, hate the villain and hate the actor who's playing the villain, but believe MoS will be a good film. You're one silly bastard trying to rationalize future bandwagoning with little flips.

More Quanchi "I think I win by ranting until I get the last word" clown tactics. Have it, as the derailing is not fair to others, bandwagon-boi 🙂

Yes, just because they aren't cool doesn't make them not believable in a well directed film.

Again, I won't champion the characters isn't saying anything other than I know what I like. They aren't it. Never will be. Cry.

Can't remember if I mentioned this is my initial review but it just popped in my head again as a minor annoyance. Why the **** does Khan move his mouth to such a massive degree when he speaks? It's like every movement is overly exaggerated for deaf people lip reading. I found it quite off putting despite his pretty cool deep intimidating voice.

good =/= cool.

I think that's just Cumberbatch's style of acting.
Think he was the same playing Sherlock.

Into Darkness enemy...your thoughts *CONTAINS SPOILERS*

I'm not putting anything in spoilers cause the title says there are spoilers, if you're retarded enough to come in here and read whats said it's your own damn fault

Now before mods decide this is a star trek into darkness thread it kind of is, but this is to discuss one character and one character alone. Khan, what did you think of him? Did you love him? Hate him? Did Benedict do a good job or did he suck? What did you think of the reversal of Spock being the one to yell out Khans name? Well I'll give my thoughts first I guess, I liked Khan...the guy was a bad ass motherthumper. Taking out klingons left, right and centre and then taking a beating from Kirk like it was nothing. Sure he's not the original Khan but he was still damn good. Spock yelling out Khans name I kinda felt like they just through it then for reference and I'll admit I liked it but Kirks was and forever will be superior and Spocks felt like it just didn't belong there. I woulda liked it more had Kirk actually said it but now that'll probably never happen.

So there it is, anyone else?

I liked that it was Spock and not Kirk. It was consistent with the last movie where they used the alternate time line to flip situations.

I liked Khan a whole lot.. Cumberbatch played the role very well, in fact he stole the show..

Spock yelling Khan's name was a good surprise as it helped the story along

Cumberbatch played a great villain although I do wonder the necessity of being named, Khan, simply playing a new villain would've sufficed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel but it did seem a tad overdone with the amount of nods to previous series/movies.

I know the Klingons were a very minor subplot but their mere cameos made them out to be weaker characters compared to other movies.
They lost in a ground battle, I was expecting & disappointed not to see more Warbirds chase/battle them out of Klingon space.
