So what sort of prep could he use, that would help him against Zod? Kryptonite? That stuff's not easy to find, which is why they often have to synthesize the stuff, and get inferior products...

Didn't see this.

Depends on constraints for prep, if any. Still, it goes to show that Sinestro has displayed tremendous tactical prowess and leadership, above pretty much anything Zod over showed.
