Well, I'm not too disappointed. Denzel got a nomination for Flight, which is what I was looking for. Christopher Waltz got a nomination as supporting lead for Django Unchained, which is what I was looking for.
I'll probably root for Django Unchained for best picture, though I would say the movie definitely had its flaws.
Glad Batman got snubbed entirely, nothing in the film was best "anything" worthy- glad the shriveled old white men who vote on these things aren't sitting on Nolan's dick.
Ahhhhhh, I'd actually forgotten about Leo as Candi. Damn, he played a great role. Yeah, I think he should have gotten a nomination too.
But, I would say that his performance was tied with Waltz, so if you can only have one actor per movie in the nominees, I guess one of them had to get the shaft.
Though... Waltz did at least win an oscar for Bastards iirc, so maybe Decaprio should get a chance.
Sounds like I missed some great films that are or should have been nominated.
Django is one I should see. What are some others from 2012 that I should see, guys?

the dark night rises should have been nominated so shame on them.. dumzel didn;t deserve to get a nom.. leo should;ve been too but oh well.. Christoph Waltz' nom was deservingglad bigalow wasn;t nominated which tells me her film may not even win anything
Side note, but did you type that post out with your dick? lol
^Agreed, there are some films it seems I need to catch up on.
I hope that Silver Linings Playbook takes best screenplay, it was great all around.
Looking forward to seeing how Skyfall will do for cinematography. Can't really say any part of it was a letdown, and the close of the train scene, the casino entry, the island, and the entire closing at the manor were very well done so it should have a strong change.
Has anyone checked out Zero Dark Thirty?

Yes, Silver Linings Playbook is that good. I've yet to talk to anyone who was disappointed by it. Yet another film that understands you shouldn't give everything away in the previews.
Judi Dench saying Skyfall should'eve got nominated for more awards

ZDT and Life of Pi are both masterpieces IMNTBHO. Again, art vs. grit. Bigelow wasn't nominated, as she should have been (ZDT is even better than The Hurt Locker) because it portrayed water-boarding in a neutral light. I think LoP should (will?) win cinematography. Amazing stuff
I think The Bourne Legacy is the best action flick of the year with End of Watch a very close second.
I really liked The Silver Linings Playbook for the performances and the story, but they fell short when it came time to execute the choreography which is big with me, and the climactic moment in the movie after all; I mean if your gonna do it....
Chris Nolan has done some classics lately like The Dark Knight and especially Inception, but I think the suits had him in a box with TDKR.
