Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin

A 5 issue series

Eight assassins hired to murder Darth Vader—eight assassins dead. Now the man who enlisted them seeks a ninth assassin. The price? A cost higher than all the credits in his bottomless coffers. But when it comes to avenging his son, no sacrifice is too great to acquire the one man who can kill the Dark Lord of the Sith .

whoever the guy is that's hiring the assassins is wasting his money.

You know what the problem is about creating a story centred around the assassination of a character whose fate has already been revealed?

There's no tension.

Why does no one bother to create a brand new character unrelated, and removed from the tired old stock they've been dragging through the ringer since the early 90s? It worked for KotOR.

I agree, don't know why they go out of their way to do a story about a character assassination when we know what happens to them already......most likely this one will be good regardless

Can still do Darth Vader related stories that are actually good

like the recent 'Darth Vader and the lost command' & 'Ghost Prison'

Maybe not; he could hire Luke Skywalker!

I'm sure Luke wants to get his ass kicked some more.

DH took great risks and we still have no ending for Errant and Invasion. It's understandable that they will paly it safe for a while.

And you can still tell good stories on old characters- heck, there's honestly very few stories of Vader going around and kicking butt, despite him being the premier butt-kicker in the galaxy for a 20 year period.

I'm envision an L.A. Noire-esque RPG where you get to play as Vader, hunting Jedi, dealing with dissidents, doing Empire stuff.

Didn't mind part 1 it was okay for starting everything off.

There are plenty of Purge stories. This is just a differnet more orginal take on a Purge story.

Except its not a Purge story at all.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

Very interesting that the Headless Snake are powerful enough to blunt Vader and Palpatine's senses.
