MERA runs a gauntlet!!

i've been enjoying (mostly) the new 52 aquaman, and i like the way they depict mera. so, "aquawoman" believes that if she doesn't win each match, arthur dies. how far can she make it?

1. cap
2. spidey
3. logan
4. thing
5. invisible woman
6. ironman
7. hulk (current, indestructible)
8. wonderwoman

may not be in exactly a descending order of power due to the nature of said powers against her. using current mera and/or the pre-reboot version, who in the list can she take out for a majority?

She takes a dive in the first round 😛

Couldn't she BFR the first 4 with the ocean?

Of course she can the empty white standard forum fight room is full of water.

I assumed she was near the ocean. Its kind of meh having her fight with no mass of water nearby if you ask me, but whatever.

I suppose she could dehydrate the first 2-3 but she will probably get pimp slapped before she gets the chance to.

I agree

Mera is not even canon. From The Lame Unadventures of Aquaman #5:

This is actually an interesting thread. I say she stops at 5. I recall her powers couldn't work on Black Manta because his suit was completely sealed off. So Sue with her force fields should be it.

Oh you.......

She stops at 5 or 6. Dehydration and moisture control make her a deadly opponent.

that's kinda what i was thinking. in an average guy, there are about 90lbs of water. that's ALMOST 2 cubic feet of water. that's....quite a bit. mera pulled the water from that guy with the gun pretty easily. he couldn't even shoot. and imo she could have done it a LOT quicker than she did. even in a standard forum match, the first 4 have no chance imo. she would only need SOME of the water from their body's to play with and make weapons from anyway i think sue would be the most problematic. i haven't read up to the manta issue that zop raised, but it certainly seems a fair point. tony's suit would also seem to protect him then.

what if she were near a river and battled sue or tony?

as far as hulk--i think that would be interesting. she's strong and agile and pretty damn durable. i wonder if she could dehydrate him before hulk ko'd her? if he thunderclapped instantly, he would win, but i doubt that would be his first line of attack.

ww is similar to hulk. near water, i think she could take ww OR hulk, but i'm not sure about a majority. in a standard match, it comes down to whether she could dehydrate them fast enough.

there is also the water vapour in the air she might use, though i'm not sure we've seen her show THAT level of water control post or pre-reboot.

yeah, iirc Manta's suit was hermetically sealed. I'm sure Tony's is the same. On Sue, I could see it working though.

I'm not sure a thunderclap would one-shot her, but yeah it would do some damage.

With Diana, I'm wondering if being somewhat godly would protect her. I'm not sure.

Preboot, I'm almost certain I remember her manipulating water vapour. I can't remember where/when though.

She flashes everyone then goes for a nut shot. If cap can with stand her god like bossoms. Its basically dismay for her vajayjay

Mera has complete control over water, including the water found inside a person body. If she's bloodlusted and willing to kill then I can see her getting past Iron Man. I'm not sure if she'll be fast enough to use the same gimmick on the Hulk.

What number was that issue? I finished reading the first trade about a month ago. Can't wait for the second one to be out.

Wait, you see the water draining thing working through Sue's force fields but not Iron Man's armor?

Another question, how powerful are her hard water constructs?

Oh man, I don't remember. I just saw the scan on this forum somewhere.

I was speaking more that it depends on how Sue uses her powers. She isn't going to encase herself in a bubble every single time, is she.

As hard as water can be, I guess.

In that case you shouldn't debate for Mera. 😛 😄

Quick question: Why can't Mera control the water if the person is wearing a suit?

It requires a telepathic signal. Like Storm's weather manipulation etc.

See:

Though I was wrong about how it was sealed. My bad.
