Honestly the way I see it working is the two temps, Hot and cold, clash together and dont make any ground forward but more blasts backwards and sideways. But I am more of a 'Real life' ideas so I see the heat rising while the cold builds up around them slowly.

That would make sense, but the way your post is written, it sounds more like Snow is flash freezing to counteract Nova's heat. You're both giving off extreme temperatures really quickly.
