I'm beginning to think the people behind these movies just do not know how to write a proper Superman. I think some think he maybe is supposed to be sort of bland and rigid. Essential an actual Boy Scout who can never do wrong.
Which is weird because they had Superman snap a dudes neck. It's like they want to write a Superman who isn't like what I just described, but they thought it could be done by making him kill a dude and nothing else.
