Gary Oldman was a highly regarded leading man & character actor before Harry Potter. The only thing before HP was he was getting too typecast in villainous roles. By the time he appeared in HP3, he was settling into being a character supporting actor in middle age.
I don't think there's a parallel between what happened to his career post HP and Alec Guinness doing Star Wars in the 1970's, which made him an icon for a young generation of new fans. Oldman also had The Dark Knight Trilogy going on at the same time as HP; you could make as much of a case playing Jim Gordon shot his career forward.

Well, at the beginning of the trailer you find out that eight years have passed, and at the end of the previous movie, we knew that the monkey spray virus was going to be a massacre disease for the human race.
So the apes are trying to make the world go back to "natural," and the humans can't rebel because they're dying of disease, or killing each other.
