No he didn't. He might've wanted to die, but the void was holding Thor back from attack him. Thor broke the voids grip and one shot killed him. The only part Bob contributed to was making sure the void stayed down.
You're actually serious in thinking that Sentry can beat Galactus? Ok, an average hungryish galactus is too much for the greatest of Earth's skyfathers. Sentry, isn't even capable of beating Thor for a majority. But I'm not sure why I'm explaining this. If you actually think a high herald is beating Galactus in a forum fight...

the Spiderman statement, not sure if it should be taken seriously
far as Nate, he was pulling a telepathic whammy on sentry just to get him out of the arena because he didn't feel like dealing with him at the moment. The fact that one guy stated Sentry defeated Galactus on his own, while the other stated they both stalemated a Hungry Galactus should already pull up a red flag guy.
It was probably just a comment on his general power level capabilities than anything but I don't really have a problem with what Spider-Man said. Sentry in his original Marvel Knight mini could be pretty much all powerful, I have no doubt he was intended to be the kind of being capable of taking on any kind of threat and driving them off, whether it's the Wrecker or Galactus.
to respond to you dambro sentry wins 10/10 against any version of thor but rkt and sentry has the feats and showings to beat galactus idk y thats so hard to believe molecule man fight he destroyed asgard beating on the strongest version of hulk not using anywhere close to his true ability thats a very strong character who can beat galactus
