Huh? The more combos you do and the more variation you use in combat, the quicker you gain xp and you get flat out more of it, which gets you upgrades more quickly.

Then they should make it less repetitive.

Check this out: I got extremely bored after 10 minutes from the combat system in Arkham City. It only took 10 minutes before I was done with it.

And what I'm talking about is making your character OP: overpowered. If I'm going to spend hours playing the equivalent of a hack and slash (but poorly implemented), I want something out of it. "Getting the upgrades faster" just doesn't cut it in these games for me. It doesn't feel any faster and the upgrades don't make you feel OP.

This is more true in City and Origins than it was in Asylum, sure, but the combat is only repetitive, imo, if you let it be.

I was farming XP the other day, so I could grab that next upgrade I wanted. How? By going in to random mobs and kicking the shit out of them using as much variation as I could.

or did I misunderstand?

Actually, no, this makes sense. I think you really do get it. That's repetitive to you, right? You may not be as impatient as me but surely you thought, "ugh...when is this done...triangle triangle triangle..."

Actually I don't find it that repetitive, but tbh I think it's more a personal preference thing. I do get what you mean, and I say fair enough, but I will argue that most of my fights aren't THAT repetitive because I actively try to mix things up and try to "rp" Batman while I play. I think it varies by player, and if you do use Triangle a lot, then sure, it can be repetitive.

I understand what you mean about RPGs though; you should see me in Dragon Age and Old Republic. I go crazy over-levelling myself.

'pologies if my post seems a bit rambly.

I do understand the appeal and the voice acting and cut scenes, alone, are almost worth buying the game, over.

I think I have become jaded and grumpy as a gamer as I have gotten older.

One of my favorite things to do in open-world-like RPGs is to level up doing tons of side-quests, continue on the main missions, and then WTF ROFL stomp a big bad in the main story-line.

NEVAH! You've at least convinced me to rent the game. That's better than my "think I'll skip this one, too."

I am horrible for side-quests; I won't skip them ever. Even in online games, If I can finish the side ones by myself, I'll still do it.

Honestly, there are a bunch of new villain types that will make sure that not every fight is repetitive. Carrying over from City there's the knife wielder that has to be countered a special kind of way, and a riot shield guy whose attacks can't be countered. then in origins for the first time there's a martial artist class that can counter your attacks and even counter your counters. there's a "brute" type guy that can't be blocked and has to be stunned a certain way before you kick his ass.

and that's not even counting the guys with guns, of whom there are a lot of this time around.

on the story front, I really like the game. I feel like more of a detective than I did in the last two games, which as far as im concerned is only a good thing.

Martial artist cant dodge batclaw just in case someone didnt realize...313

I haven't met an enemy in the game that can't stop the batclaw. It's OP as hell at times.

lol ok, them.

Btw what did you think of the Shiva side mission? I liked it.

It was pretty cool. One of the better sidemissions.
I like the crime reconstruction ones as well.
I did encounter some glitches in Deathstroke's predator challenges sometimes the thugs freeze and do nothing but stand in one place even after attacking them they stand up and wont move...

Damn I love that new trailer the have for the game. the one where they only show his face when he's young going through the famous events that made him onto the batman.

Probably the best video game trailer I've seen ever..

I've only done one challenge mission as deathstroke, so haven't had much in the way of bugs on that front. lucky me.

yeah it's pretty cool.

Anyone else unlocked that free costume by signing up with Warner Bros or linking your acccount if you have one set up.

Yeah; I have no interest in using it though. Stupid Batman One Million.

What was stupid about it?

I just think it's ugly, personally.

I really liked the costume you get for

Spoiler:
beating the game! Its the Batman Noel costume! I only seem to use it.

Im such a phucking moron I beat Deathstroke in I am the night mode after I went to the GCPD there is a room full of armored cops where you have to use the remote claw to avoid them then takedown a guard silently I took him out with a knockout smash so I got gangbanged game over....haermm

Ok, so I'm right at the stage where I'm supposed to track down Electrocutioner, but I'm trying to do the Dark Knight challenges to get the xp first.

Side missions too.

I've already done some of the "expert" challenge maps.

Still REALLY enjoying this game.

Warner Bro's working on the problems people have been encountering with the game

so the corrupt saves are only with the 360 version.
