DoE Bane runs a gauntlet
DoE Bane is set to fight a series of duels to the death.
Setting: on-board The Invisible Hand, where Anakin fought Dooku in RotS
Conditions: 1 day rest
1. Pre Vizsla and Grevious
2. Plo Koon and Shaak Ti
3. Depa Billaba and Sora Bulq
4. Savage and Ventress
5. RotS Kenobi and Fisto
6. CW Maul and Kas’im
7. RotS Anakin and Corran Horn
Can he make it?
Oh no way he clears it. Six is very hard, and 7's even harder (in no small part due to lightning being a bad move against Corran).
They should die with not too much trouble. Dooku rendered Bulq unconscious with a single blast of lightning. Bane has a better lightning feat in DoE. And Depa herself shouldn't pose a very big challenge.
Isn't Depa stronger than Bulq? I thought she pushed Mace much harder.
He clears. There isn't a group proficient enough to take his highest Force showings, which is what will easily be the undoing for most. 7 is certainly the greatest challenge saber wise but his mastery to the point of anticipating what is coming next against multiple forms, his speed, and his experience give him the chance to overcome. With full rest he also has the capacity to unleash his Force attacks at full strength and the foes in 7 don't have any answer for Force Void, and Anakin is the only one who I could see acting to deflect a full power Force Wave to the point of surviving it.
I will say that 6 would certainly be interesting, but because of the saber types Bane could actually cause them to hinder each other. I will give credence to them presenting a pretty interesting challenge, though even as a new Sith Lord Bane overwhelmed Kas'im, in spite of the Twi'lek's vaunted talents. Maul's weakness as above is that I see him having almost no defense against Bane's Force attacks.
I think 7 Bane dies.
Anakin alone will be able to match him in sabers, add Corran and Bane will be overwhelmed.
In the Force no doubt Bane has a considerable edge in power, but as noted Corran’s special absorption ability will be nemesis for Bane’s FL.
Corran can also cast illusions on Bane, while Bane will be occupied with Anakin.
Lastly, in contrast to popular belief, Anakin is not solely a Force monkey. He has a very high level force defenses, making him shrug off Dooku’s Force attacks at times.
The really interesting fight is 6 IMHO.
Maul is a very formidable opponent on his own. His Force powers are comparable to some degree, his saber prowess is also exceptionally good. Add Kas’im, whom I view as a clear superior to Savage in bladework, and Bane will find himself facing two master swordsmen, one being able to TK spacecrafts easily.
He has a chance, but this will be extremely close, I think.
