He didn't kill him, just chopped off one of his arms. 17 killed Gero, but stalemating 17 was his best feat in the latest part of the series, and that was before he trained in the HTC.

But yeah, chances are he doesn't beat Bojack, even at the end of the series.

With one year of training, Piccolo was able to go from Android level strength to tanking shots against a Cell jr. End of Z is like 20 years alter and since Piccolo literally doesn't have a life, it's tough to imagine him not training.

Piccolo has been able to tank against opponents much stronger than him like Broly or the Cell Jr.

Bojack ain't one shotting him. He'll win of course but it's not remotely close to a stomp.
