Rulk's energies were depleted over the course of his fights, not just the Savage Hulk and OF Thor fights, but the expenditure of energies over all of them.

Extremely doubtful considering the Destroyer Armor and Bor couldn't kill him and both have or could have slayed normal Thor.

And again, imo Rulk had depleted his energies by the time he got back to Earth and fought Savage Hulk... He had been in continuous battle for some time, by that point.

What's complicating the matter in this case, however, is that the original poster of this thread is specifying Loeb-force Rulk.

This is confusing me because Rulk won all those great battles largely hand-to-hand, but he did so because, under Jeph Loeb, he had the innate ability to absorb energies from many of his opponents and use the enemy's OWN power to make himself stronger. People are saying Rune King Thor can amp himself and make himself stronger. If doing that, using a special ability to increase one's own strength, still satisfies the edict of "hand-to-hand only", wouldn't Rulk's ability meet this criterion, too?

If so, wouldn't that mean he could simply absorb energy from Rune King Thor AS Rune King Thor is amping himself and match, then exceed RKT?

Check the Rulk respect thread. Notice that Loeb-force Rulk is able to absorb seemingly any form of energy an enemy possesses: gamma, sound, cosmic, even Thor's Asgardian magic energy, if the fight where he jumped with Thor to the moon, left him KO'ed there and then used jumped back is any indication. Note that in that encounter, Rulk was apparently able to work some of the very magic of Mjolnir to attack Thor with ELECTRIC hammer blows not just regular ones.

Team for the win if the Rulks are allowed to use their special energy/power absorption ability, the very ability that MADE them "Loeb-force", against RKT in this struggle.
