Why do you wank The Destroyer?

I keep seeing this feat as an example of Thor's power.

Its ray beam is about a strong as a repulsor i.e. not that powerful
It's really slow and clunky
It was momentarily disabled after Sif speared it.

What makes defeating it so impressive?
