Would we love DBZ the same way today, if DB wasn't there?

I understand that DB was before DBZ, but what if DB was not created and the series started with just DBZ?

Would you guys like Goku for his stupidity, naive, good nature?

Over here DBZ was shown on TV first and it wasn't until the initial hype started to fade that DB was given a TV slot, couple years later? I doubt half of those that saw DBZ first, which I assume there's quite a bunch, have even seen DB but they all still became fans of Goku and the series.

I loved DBZ before Toonami ever got Dragon Ball so it applies to me anyway.

Ironically enough the episode that made me get into DBZ was a training one and had Dragonball's humor. I.e Goku hitting Gregory with a hammer.

If it were released now, I would love it even more than I did before because it would fill that void in manga that I don't get from anything else.

Berserk is great....really good. But it doesn't fill that void.

DBZ is 4 me, DB not so much.

Yea, most people in the US started on DBZ action, and only saw DB humor later.

Heck, I still haven't seen/read all the DB arcs.
