by feats, not much stronger. hollywood had some very ltd appearances. people make a huge deal of his fighting dormmy h2h briefly, but simon had a great showing against michael korvac as well. classic simon has several good feats. people also bring up the 'explosion survival' which is a good feat as well, but not incomparable to some of classic simon's better feats.
and i think you're right--this is very close to spite.

Hollywood :
1) beat a Stark alien that wtfpwned Firelord and survived a solar system level explosion with no visible wounds (just tattered clothing)
2) put Cú Chulainn on his @$$ with one punch, this guy was going toe to toe with Dumb Drax
3) going toe to toe with Silverback and more than holding his own till Silverback was BFRed into a black hole (and Hollywood was actually trying to save him at that point). Silverback wtfpwned Hemidall and held his own vs Woden (Thor's son and wielder of Mjolnir, THor in this reality is a fat slob) for a prolonged battle, till he was electrocuted while submerged and that KOed him.
I don't know, I saw him as more powerful than 616 reality Simon.
