I think that was against Medusa... iirc she used that helmet to block her vision, and see the cloth in her hand? Blindfold for secondary defense.

Anyway, Ego is both a planet, and fairly cosmic-y powered.

When Ronan took Ego's power, he was tearing through a very good lineup of heroes.

Ego's weakness has always been his size, not his power. And I don't really see his size being an issue here when he knows he's in a fight. He obliterates WW without a second thought.
