Dead Rising 3 designed to appeal to Call of Duty fans

In a GameSpot report, Capcom demonstrated exactly how terminally bloody stupid the mainstream game industry truly is, confessing that Dead Rising 3 is planning to appeal to Call of Duty fans. Because of course, following the leader is exactly how you lead!

In a bid to, yes, "appeal to a wider audience," Dead Rising 3 has been given a brown color scheme, a serious tone, and a "realistic" approach. As if going down a checklist of bullshit PR phrases, Capcom also promises the violence will be "more visceral."

It would appear the publisher learned nothing from Resident Evil 6, a game that also ignored everything its series was founded on in a desperate, blind, pathetic attempt to grasp for an audience that was too busy playing Call of Duty to notice a poor attempting at aping Call of Duty. This is a lesson major publishers seem to refuse to accept, as they perpetuate the same cycle of failure they're been spinning on for the past few years.

As I'm always frigging saying, companies will shoot themselves in the foot if they keep insanely believing they can photocopy Call of Duty's success by scraping pitifully in its shadow. They need to start leading their own markets, rather than grab slices of a market already conquered.

But no, that requires too much thought. Better to just smash existing games with their own unique appeal, and reconstruct them into some bastard mutant that is everything and nothing at once.

hehehe

it worked so great for FUSE

Capcom, you stupid glob of spit.

Wonder if Keiji Inafune is even involved with this one

sounds like he isn't.

Not surprised.

Capcom likes exclusives, or should I say timed exclusives?

Well reviews are in and most of them are pretty positive. I wish I could play it now but alas, I chose a different console. Oh well. I'm positive it'll be on the PS4 sometime in the future anyway. Until proven otherwise, Capcom can say it's an Xbox exclusive as much as they like. Before, they "confirmed" Resident Evil 4 would never leave the Gamecube and it's on five different systems now. Six if you want to count the mobile version.

I've only seen one review and wouldn't exactly call it positive like straight out 8,9 or even 10/10

-Needed more variety to the city itself
-Game doesn't do a good job of explaining all the mechanics clearly to you, Just presumes you've played all the other games in the series
-Boss's had way too much health

Ok, a metacritic rating of 77 is not a positive?

When have games needed an 8 and above to be considered good. It's a 7 type game.

I agree about the city. It's definitely not as good as the mall or Vegas casinos. I also miss having a map that has the store names on it so when a fetch quest happens, I know where to go.

The game does a pretty good job explaining itself. It tells you how to make weapons, cars, how to get survivors, about safe houses. I it also tells you how to attack, how to survive, how to upgrade yourself. I don't really know what else it needs to tell you.

Bosses are pretty easy. The game allows you to distract them with taunts from the Kinect. Also, you have to choose the correct type of weapon.

the review that i seen liked how you didn't need to go to a workbeach to craft the weapons, You can just do it on the go.

Yeah, that's really good. Takes away the tedium of running to the bench. As well, it makes all the non-combo weapons pretty weak.

It's also cool setting up some crazy cars.
