Nobody is saying he wanted to be KO'd. He clearly believe he could just absorb it and direct it back like he did Dooku's and like he did later. Difference is, the first time he wasn't expecting it to be that powerful. He likely believe that since he casually dealt with Dooku's lighting, Sids would be much the same. It wasn't. Once he knew what to expect, he dealt with it and send it back. Understand the difference now?
