How do we know it's not teleporting. If unicorns can do it, alicorns shouldn't have an issue.

Because we actively see Celestia travelling to Twilight and friends. We know she can teleport as well, in this instance she did not.

Celestia riding in a chariot ever is the single biggest piece of laziness in MLP.

But I thought celestia needed the elements of harmony to put luna in the moon, how did nightmare moon do it with a much farther distance by herself?

That's not explained, it seems that Luna is actually much more powerful than Celestia. Best I can guess, anyway.

Nothing about NMM's existence seems to say she's more powerful than Luna, since it's just Luna's jealousy taking over. So I dunno.
