He is essentially invincible when he is flying and without too much cis should not have too much difficulty with northstar. Northstar is fast but he isnt so fast that cannonball cant keep up with. Also NS doesn't have any other special abilities for defense or offense AFAIK.

Yeah Northstar can go lightspeed now, has his flashbang and thermal abilities. So he has more then just flight. Wether it will be enough is the question
Cannonball did take out a possessed Northstar not to long ago, but he really didn't have control of his abilities or know what was going on. Without CIS, then there is no way Cannonball could touch Northstar. Aurora could easily beat Cannonball straight up though.
