In one action during my service my unit was charged with taking a fortified point held by a force 8 times our size. I deliberately allowed my men to be seen to be moving into position and committed 3/4 of my unit to that assault. Meanwhile the other 1/4 prepared a scorched earth pincer movement. Basically I had them sneak ahead of our launch position set charges and then take to ground and hide. While this was happened we dug trenches at the launch point. most of the 3/4 made a frontal assault which was met with most of their force ( outnumbers about 10 to 1) so we made the tactical retreat I'd always planned. As we approached our trenches with about a 10% loss the snipers within started kulling the enemy chasing us down as those taken to ground side the same from behind coinciding with charges going off beneath the feet of the enemy. Over half their numbers were taken down in 10 minutes with them surrounded and taking fire from all sides with us now fortified.

Showing ones hand is far from a loosing tactic done right 😉

No offense to tijay, but the guy flat-out admitted he was outmatched. Nobody's identified him as spoiler material.

Obviously I'd have myself higher, but among the opinions expressed I have yet to be identified as the outright favorite, just among the favorites.

If I were placing bets at these odds, and excluded betting on myself, I'd probably take abhilegend. He gets pigeonholed as a Superman fanboy, but has some legit debating chops. He'd be the best bargain imo at these odds.

That said, he'd also be an underdog in his match with me. Again, odds are about value and ROI, not favorites alone. [/B]

😂 this has definitely been some of the best pre-tourney stuff i've been involved in. the beat downs are coming. and pg--it really WILL need to be a beat down for the ages to redress the verbal raping he's been dishing out.... lol

no idea, actually. when DO write ups have to be in by? prolly just pm them tonight then curry can post them whenever he wants. it IS a 5 post limit right? was there a time frame? hopefully judges can get their votes in promptly. that is often the biggest delay in these things.

Time frame Wednesday till Tuesday. PMd my writeup today since there's little to think. A real challenge starts with Sin I Am and then dreaded Id or maybe not so dreaded Chipguy.

Was it officially set at 5? I do know that the writeup doesn't count toward your total (unless it goes over into two writeup posts, I would assume). I'd be ok with 6-7. Gives room for a "scans-only" post, or some clarifying posts. 5 is enough, but there's more pressure to jam-pack every one.
