Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

That article is incorrect...and it was also written before The Avengers was even done at the box office.

Also, from the same article:

Knossis

Ticket sales aren't the gage of success, money is. TDK took awhile to hit its total and it had to be rereleased to do it. Not to mention, plenty of folks probably waited and caught it at the dollar theaters on the cheap. So your numbers are off to begin with. Avengers doesn't have to make 18 mil to surpass TDK in ticket sales. When it hits the dollar theaters, as all films do. It could sell 5 million more tickets and only make 5 million. You need to factor in everything. And if TDK gets a rerelease to prop up its numbers, so does the avengers.

Again, the bottom line is this; Dark Knight did it's thing. It made a lot of money. Adjusted for inflation it lost to Avengers. PERIOD. WB didn't want to spend the money to make it in 3-d? Boo Hoo. That's on them. It cost them and it cost TDK it's bottom line.

Yes, but the dark knight still managed to make as much even without 3-d. A pretty huge accomplishment.

That's the power of Batman.

No one is denying that what TDK did isn't a huge accomplishment. Both films are massive achievements. AND AGAIN, as I pointed out from the very article YOU POSTED, TDK was re-released to make it's Billion. It didn't make that in it's initial run.

The foreign box office expanded ALOT since 2008.

In fact TDK wasn't even released in China.

We're talking ticket sales. TDK sold more.

And you still haven't provided solid proof save an incorrect and not even post Avengers release article written by some unknown site. I hear a lot of excuses. I wonder what would have happened had Marvel re-released Avengers to get it past 1.6-8 billion.

The Dark Knight didn't even make $1 billion in it's initial run. Case closed.

You haven't provided any proof, other than a flawed chart from BO Mojo. It's pretty obvious TDK sold more tickets, you're just being hard headed.

Everything has been talked to death.

Still doesn't mean you should go wildly off-topic... shrug

Someone calculated worldwide gross (adjusted) and TDK was around 1.5 billion. If that's accuate, pretty crazy for something that wasn't released in China.

Ok, back on topic.

Well that topic has mainly resorted to Hate talk now. Nothing much new to add to the topic atm. Latest news was Affleck being exec producer, but we don't really know what that means.

I just read that the Winder Woman buget was 150 million.

Sounds high.
