More powerful characters don't equal better characters.
The Avengers are far more likable characters imo

They are. But that's because the Marvel movies go for that fun tone, where you can't help but find the characters likable.
WB's DC Movies however are full of the Dark Gritty nature, which seems to work for their movies. They can't do the fun lighter tone as we saw them attempt that with Green Lantern.
Originally posted by RobtardExactly what I was thinking. I hope they get rid of the Batman vs Superman title. I would rather see a Superman vs Flash fight. This piece of news has me more hyped than anything about this movie so far. I f*cking need the Flash in movies.
"One of the new characters is going to push the limits of Superman’s speed"The Flash?

DC/WB seem to be in this imaginary dick measuring contest that only they are participating in. They are Rushing to release a justice league movie as fast as possible, getting the same release date as Cap3 (even though cap had it first), now this.
They still dont get it .
Marvel is focused on one thing. To release the best movies they can make and to further expand their movie verse. They have a plan and had always had a plan. They are not focused on what other movie studios are doing , they are focused on their products.
On the the other hand you have WB/DC rushing their products, trying to create imaginary studio wars, trying whatever they can to top marvel.
Instead of worrying about what marvel is doing they should focus on their own movies and create quality products.

Very true.
invincible gods are such boring and uninteresting characters.
You think Marvel didnt know what they were doing when they toned down their characters powers in order to make a better movie. It probably fit better into the kind of universe they were building.
I wouldn't want Hulk punching the moon in half in avengers 2, just to show how badass he is or to please shallow comic fans that eat up "FEATS, or to out do whatever DC/WB doesn in their films. That would be idiotic.
LOL at ''Marvel Quality''
Outside of Cap 2, Avengers (this one has a pretty braindead plot btw, it has the edge of being the first big assemble movie) and maybe the original Iron Man, Marvel just churns out generic by the numbers forgettable trash, only a marvel zombie would call every output of marvel studios ''quality product''.
OH the hypocrisy of marvel fanboys! they trash anything DCU movie related news, heck they even trash other marvel properties like XMEN (despite the fact that the Xmen verse offers much better acting, scripts and plot than most marvel movies) .
The Quicksilver crow eating this year was outstanding, is even more funny if you consider the fact that MCU Pietro is Quicksilver in name only, is just a nazi superweapon that is called quicksilver, i dont see fanboy crying over that, but well, fanboys are gonna fanboys.
And yeah, power levels ARE important, those movies are adaptations of SUPERheroes comics books after all, MOS was the best adaptation of a superhero comic fight, so yes they are important to me.
Originally posted by TH3_V01DThor 2 was also a higher caliber movie.

While the Phase one Cap and Thor were still quality movies but probably only above average.
As for why you are saying these things I don't really care. I'm just pointing out that Marvel has not been turning out trash. They have been churning out good movies with some great ones sprinkled in there and maybe a few not up to par ones.
Attempting to make a point about bashing while in turn trying to bash a company that has been doing good work is in bad form.

IMO ironman 3, ironman 2 and the jane/darcy parts of the Thor movies (the thor and asguard parts were very good) were the worst parts of the marvel cinematic universe. They were still decent. Way better then movies like gi joe, transformers, superman returns, green lantern, xmen3, wolverine origins, etc.
LOl @ fanboy. If you are a comic fan you want both studios to make good films so there will be 2 times as many movies to enjoy. I want DC to make good films. What they are doing though is cringe worthy. From the casting choices to the rushing out a justice league movie and now to claims that their already ridiculous powers ( and dragonballZ type fights in man of steel) will be even more ridiculous, and trying to make all their heroes grim/dark and edgy. They still dont seem to get it.
Look at the pic of the new superman suit. He looks like a unapproachable brooding killer. totally opposite of what superman is and has always been. He is not batman. A small child would be scared to approach superman looking like that. He is suppose to give hope?
You sound like you are the people im describing that no matter how bad a movie is you still cream your pants whenever superman lifts something heavy.

Ultron Origins was messed up because of edgar wright lagged like like 8 years with that movie. and never released it.
The Mandarin thing was bad and i hated it. I Didnt like Ironman 3 , and the mandarin thing isnt why the movie was bad.
I dont see anything in the superman pic that is menacing or a unapproachable brooding killer, all i see is a more experienced dude in a dark and gritty Gotham City, you know that shithole playground of the dark knight.
I dont see anything wrong with the serious approach in the DC verse, thank god is not a bland looking happy happy world full of bad humor with a cast of snarky characters, heck just look at agents of shield , is just the OC with weird tech.
Also, im not even a DC fanboy, i just like good superhero movies, Xmen DoFP was to me the best comicbook movie since The Dark Knight, MoS was with faults, issues, storytelling problems, but boy to me was a far more compelling movie compared to most Phase 1 marvel movies, and anything so far in phase 2 Cap aside, it was trying to tell a story at least plus insane action scenes.
The whole Mandarin complaint is void, now that All Hail the King has been released by Marvel. Iron Man 3 technically was NOT about Mandarin, it was about a villain impersonating Mandarin.
An Ultron origin story involving Tony Stark makes perfect sense. More sense than scientist Hank Pym, whose engineering skills pale in comparison to Tony's, creating him. Besides, Edgar Wright screwed shit up by delaying antman 8 years.
I'm not strictly a Marvel fan, as I DO want DC to succeed. But imo, Marvel has been doing a much better job. MoS was horseshit btw
Originally posted by TH3_V01DI've made my opinion on it. I ****ing hate it. Pym is considered one of the smartest men in the marvel universe (yes, smarter than Tony), surpassed only by Reed Richards and Doctor Doom (though he has said that Peter Parker is likely more of a genius than him, and but lacks the resources to make use of his intellect). This robs him of one of his greatest testaments to that knowledge, and I think it's a stupid change that serves no purpose other than to make Iron Man the center of attention again. Hank got robbed.

I hated the Mandarin reveal. Thank god they fixed that. Best story telling choice they've made since Iron Man 1.

"All Hail the King" doesn't suddenly make IM3 a better movie though. I also hated that movie. And I love the first IM. To me IM1 is still one of the greatest comic book movies of all time.
Still though, of all the studios giving us comic book movies Marvel is doing the best job overall. Fox and WB might be good competition over the next couple of years. But for now it's still Marvel by far. They've simply been the most consistent in giving us good movies. And now it looks like they've taken a completely unknown property like GOTG and made a great movie out of it.

Pym is getting shafted hard. He's an absolutely brilliant engineer in the comics, and i'm honestly of the belief that it was Bendis who ****ed it all up.
Hanks wife-beater/cradle-robber portrayal in Ultimate Comics didn't help either. They seriously need to clean up his image. It sucks.
The sad part is that they tried. Dan Slott busted his ass and wrote an amazing arc where Pym almost completely redeemed itself. A whole year of goodness.
Then Bendis came along and went "lol no, that Pym was a Skrull".
****er. His irrational hate for Pym (which he has admitted to), is incredibly petty.
