Hellboy had plot on his side. Maul doesn't. Maul also lost to a padawan. Plus Hellboy isn't exactly weak.
Doesn't matter. We know that Hellboy while drunk was holding his own, and in the second fight fresh off of being healed not only held his own, but was doing very well while holding back so he wouldn't hurt Nuala as well. And it wasn't HB's strength, it was his speed, agility, and reflexes that were impressive.
Maul on the other hand fought two incredibly skilled Jedi at once and won the fight. Then he beat one of the best Masters of the time one on one. He only lost to Obi-Wan because of plot if you want to throw that out there. He could have easily knocked him down that pit instead of taunting him. And going by what we saw throughout the film, he was more than fast enough to react to Obi's final attack.

Hellboy got his ass handed to him while drunk. Don't know where you got that he was holding his own.
And while I do agree that Maul fighting two jedi's at once is more impressive than Nuada fighting Hellboy, the reason I'm giving this to Nuada is mostly because:
1. It's a sword fight so no force telekinetics (which Maul needed to use in his fight with the 2 jedi's).
2. Hellboy has shown strength beyond that of any Jedi (as far as I know of) and Nuada was matching Hellboy's strength. So while Nuada and Maul might be comparable in speed, Nuada is probably quite a bit stronger. If we consider that Nuada's spear won't get cut by a light saber, then I'm not sure Maul can keep matching Nuada's strength advantage.

1. (kinda like it being a h2h fight between Yu Law and Loki, so Loki can't use his knives and magic? 😎 ) And Maul only used his TK to make a jump onto another platform and open a door. I don't think he offensively used TK on them in the entire fight.
2. Most of Hellboy's strength was through the Right Hand of Doom. And while he was strong in his left hand, it was clear his strength isn't anything a normal person will be floored from. And Maul wouldn't try to match his strength once he realized Nuada was stronger. He'd just use his skills.

😕 He only "needed" to use telekinesis against a pissed off Obi Wan at the end of the duel. And I don’t follow the implied logic that his “needing” to use it in one circumstance suggests that he would lose without it here.

Jedi have blatantly supernatural abilities, given that they jump dozens of meters, hit moving airspeeders at terminal velocity and stand next to molten lava without any injury.

That’s a pretty generous assumption, lol. A lightsaber’s penetrating ability isn’t a trivial attribute.

Nauada was slicing raindrops in half. He also ran thru his father's guards like they were snowflakes. HB had plot to help him imo
And remember how easily Hellboy smashed the clockwork nazi ninja in the first film, and Kroenen himself was fairly superhuman. HB's pretty quick for all his size.

It's a fair assumption given the nature of the thread. Otherwise this would be pretty pointless

He was quick but he was nowhere near Nuada in speed until the plot needed him to be. Just look at his showings against... well everybody. That clockwork Nazi was in an enclosed area with Hellboy. He could only move around so much.
