Light Saber Color

My theory has always been that the color of the Jedi's light saber is based on the color of his master's saber- Yoda trained Luke- green saber, Obiwan trained Anakin- blue saber, Sidius trained Vader/Maul/Tyrannus- red saber...

But... we see in Episode 1 QGJ has a green light saber and Obiwan has a blue blade. Anybody know why this is? There is no official canon explanation for the blade colors, but they kept up the Master/Apprentice color pairing everywhere but here.

that part about luke's saber is wrong. it was just his father's old lightsaber. it was blue. he lost it. he made a green one. no explanation why. the end.

Maybe the Jedi store ran out of blue crystals.
