What is a better feat? Thor's current or Orion's Oblivion Bomb?

Started by Digi2 pages

What's more, a lot or a bunch?

Pick one. There's your answer. Unquantifiable feats are unquantifiable. Was the stuff Thor absorbed reality-busting, or just very specific toward Gods, suggesting that it might be less than universe busting? Or was its ubiquity throughout time a sign that it transcended universal level? And was Orion's feat actual universe level, or standard comic hyperbole?

We're dealing with incompletes and half-educated guesses.

Pick a side. Act like you mean it. Call the other side fanboys. And lean toward the more recent feat because **** anything that happened > 5 years ago. I'm on team Thor.

All we needed was a panel of the Living Tribunal dying too and we could just declare Thor TOAA.

IOW, Thor wins.

It'd be nice to see more scans of Orion's feat. There is some disconnect between the last two scans.

Even from a casually cursory reading of both feats, this comparison is laughable. The conclusion itself, absurd. And it only becomes moreso, when you apply a keener analysis of the scenes in question.

Nothing of importance came on the pages before the last. A couple pages were concerned with a totally different issue, while the page before my last scan had Highfather and Metron making proposals to the aliens involved.

The very next time Orion was shown on panel was my last scan...

The Thor feat is beyond the Orion one. Orion's feat was highly impressive sure, but does not compare in sheer grandeur.
His Astro-force powers enabled him to contain a bomb that could potentially make the universe implode on itself. Darn good feat, but it was more one-dimensional.

The Thor one was vastly superior in scope and complexity.

^ Issue #?

awesome feat for Thor. What are the chances, do you think, that it will affect his fights with other characters outside his own comic though? Probably not very good. Sadly, he'll probably get steam rolled by hulk in a month or two. comics!

Anyway, Thor's feat is better than Orions.

Jack Kirby's Fourth World #5.

Actually after rereading the book, Orion's feat was incredible! He was in such a weakened state after his ordeal with the Source. He was actually in bed and was even described by Highfather to be weak, powerless, and that he could no more control the Astro-force than the very least among the New Gods. This was all a few pages before he awoke and saved the day.

Metron also stated that the bomb had the power to make the universe collapse in an instant into a colossal black hole!

I still think the Thor feat was better.

Haven't read the latest Thor, but was the bomb as destructive as the Oblivion Bomb?

Just read it. Orion was restored by Takion before traveling to the Oblivion Bomb.

Except it didn't. Oddly enough.

Me too. The Oblivion Bomb's reversal by Orion's Astroforce was, to put it lightly, rather anti-climactic...
