Given the seeming x-men/avengers merger do we count certain characters twice when estimating the teams overall team power? (As long as its vague)

Are you talking total history of the team ( as in every member ever since team started at most powerful) ??

If so
Xmen #1 only assuming Jean has full Pheonix, scarlet witch house of M
JSA #2- Spectre, Classic Fate, 5th dimensional imp, starheart, Obsidian and worlogog ALL on one team plus 3 Kryptonians, 2 Marvel Family members, several wielders of Cosmic power
Avengers #3( Wanda also a member)
Justice League only because we've never seen Mr Miracle use teh Ale much, Phantom Stranger has his hands ties and even when Classic fate was a member ( for like 5 issues before passing mantle on to Erick) we saw him do bupkiss, MM never went Fermus when a JLAer ( as far as i recall).

JLA have a ton of splinter teams as well. And more powerful on average.

The Beyonder was an Avenger. He was set up as one because he had no purpose, and so Steve enlisted him to serve as an Avenger. There has got to be a limit. Honorary members need to be left out of this. I'm sure you knew this.

Is the Spectre currently in the JLA, JSA, or JLD? If not and you want to go way back to characters that were on either team the Beyonder was likely more powerful than the Spectre, and the Phantom Stranger when he was an Avenger. So yeah, a member is a member.

I'd give Spectre odds. Pre-Flashpoint is what era I'm talking about. Unless it's Pre-Retconned Beyonder. If so, Beyonder wins.
