Youth shootings, Internet stalking and Obesity, are video games still fun?

Video games have been linked to youth violence, particularly shootings as many gamers are portrayed in the media as emo and social outcasts. The sedentary life of young gamers has been linked to obesity and the sitting upstairs or in basements for prolonged periods to disassociation from reality - leading to internet stalking and trolling. Are video games still fun? are gamers really the social pariahs the media portrays them as?

How have your experiences been?

Do gamers have short attention spans? a high likelyhood ofADHD, perform badly at school and try to get away from it all by 'playing' violent games like 'Grand Theft Auto' where they can be tough in a fantasy world?
