Mangog Vs Zeus & Classic Juggernaut

Odin actually defeated classic mangog 2 times, and that was by cutting him from his power source. In thor #198 odin did it while mangog was attacking him with the odinsword and odin was weakened himself.

though mangog did beat odin and held him as a prison, @stoic, here's the scans (from thor #196)

later in issue 197 we see a weakened odin (due to using his power to shift asgard from its place) as a prisoner of mangog

improtant note: 10 issues prior, odin was destroying galaxies and the entire universe in his battle with infinity.

odin even mentions that mangog is a threat to a thousand universes:

personally id put odin above Zeus based on feats, there are, however, on panel statements and bios that put them as equals (some other bios say that odin is the most powerful mythological god).

Thor annual #14 puts odin = zeus > Mangog:

but mangog's and zeus' performances says otherwise, for instance, mangog one-shotted thor when he encountered him for the first time in thor #156, while Thor gave Zeus a hard fight during his encounters with him (in thor annual #8 and avengers v1 #283/284).

going by feats, id say classic mangog is more powerful than Zeus.

thanks pal, i have the comic on DVD somewhere lol, I just forgot the finer details of it, but i do recall that there were certain parameters that gave Mangog the win. Zeus does not have many low moments from what I know of so there's that. I've also never read anywhere aside from this forum that stated Odin to be Zeus' superior.

^ Zeus has low showings, to post a few:

Hulk vs Hercules #1 (2008):

Zeus was hurt by a random spear thrown by one of Cronus' gigantes:

5 pages later we see that the wound didn't even heal:

---

There's also the fact that all the olympian gods (zeus included) can be bfr'd easily if the promethean flame is destroyed.

one example (avengers v1 #49). Typhon did it:

Thor/hercules mythologica handbook:

Ares did the exact same thing 51 issues later (in avengers v1 #100).

And Typhon did this again in avengers annual #23. His axe is actually capable of absorbing the flames, and he always attempts to defeat the olympians this way, because it's much easier,

---

Marvel two in one #44, Zeus gets imprisoned by 3 random beats and was dying in the tower of the sun (due to sun's heat):

so yeah, let us end the Zeus wank right here, right now.

And honestly, i have several other low showings for Zeus, tell me if you want them.

That, along with the fact that Zeus doesn't have any feat that even remotely compares to Odin's high showings, like destroying galaxies and threatening the entire universe (which happened 2 times, in journey into mystery #513, and thor #185), and containing all the fires of creation in mighty thor #21.
At least, as i said earlier, we have a bio that says Odin is perhaps the most powerful mythological god (OHOTMU v1 #8)

Classic mangog has better feats and less low showings, i see no reason why shouldn't he win against Zeus apart from the thor annual issue which i posted.

there's also the less than impressive showing zeus had when he was actively angry at the avengers, so, meh. zeus/odin should be equals, but odin certainly owns him feat-wise.

Comic books got the contrast between odin an zeus, zeus in greek mythos, defeated the personification of the cosmos, being who could
Hold constellations in their palm, gigantes who has no finite limit to power as long as the were on the earth gaea was the cause of this, beat countless universal threats, and odin got ravaged by a big ass wolf, well a large wolf lol
In comics feat wise, odin is above but recently, zeus an odin fough until ither gods had to step in, but that was a scan i saw, didnt see the context but it was said both were letting loose, and neither were winning. IiRC

It was also stated this only stopped because the other Pantheons sided with Asgard. I wish I had that scan handy too.

Odin is Zeus superior going by feats and panel statements, still Zeus will get manhandle by Mangog and juggernaut would be a gnat compare to Silver Age Mangog.

that was Cronus/Kronos, Zeus' father, who defeated Uranus - personification of the sky/cosmos (which are the same thing in ancient greece)

fyi, Marvel actually does follow this myth in regards to Atlas/Uranus power levels

--

in incredible hercules #121, we see Atlas holding the heavens (we see planets above)

http://i.imgur.com/Ddvayvw.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/flAv5xQ.jpg

Atlas' bio (2010) says that Zeus condemned atlas to hold the heavens so that he prevents mating between uranus (which is the sky filled with planets/stars) and Gaia the earth)

http://i.imgur.com/nqN921t.jpg?1

So Uranus and Atlas are pretty powerful, not to mention that the bio says that atlas is in fact holding infinite weight:

http://i.imgur.com/mXHLnyF.jpg?1

btw, the ancient greek universe is only a solar system because they didn't know of galaxies and such, but the earth was considered infinite (if you read greek texts you'll see multiple references that the earth is without an end),

one example (from: Quintus Smyrnaeus, Fall of Troy 11. 415 ff (trans. Way) (Greek epic C4th A.D.):

--
Olympian Zeus himself from heaven in wrath smote down the insolent bands of Gigantes grim, and shook the boundless earth, Tethys and Okeanos, and the heavens
--

this isn't a hyperbole, because even the oceans are infinite according to the greeks.

Edit:

btw, zop, that wasn't a fight between Zeus and Odin, they were in the infintie embassy which was created by the living tribunal himself, and anyone who doesn't come in peace, will be obliterated by him, so they wouldn't even dare start a fight.

For someone who complains about no limits fallacy, why would you possibly think this?
Because Mangog can't hurt Juggs at all. Mangog only has high herald level strength which isn't enough. Juggs probably can't hurt Mangog either so I stand corrected. Juggs could stalemate solo.

Mangog has no strength feats to show that he would manhandle Zeus. Mangog couldn't even hurt Juggs at all.

I know who Cronus is, zeus also beat him to free his brothers and sisters.

i never said that you didn't. Though zeus went up against kronos so that he can become the king of the gods, he had already freed his siblings, and got help from them along with others.

Classic Mangog is sky father level in power and might, told his own against the premier sky father and defeated him a couple times says a lot, casual one shooting Thor and deflecting hammer blows is impressive, rage stomp all of Asgard and tanking the their moist powerful weapon in Asgardian Cannon. Juggernaut is HH in strength and durability, he facing a legitimate sky father who wouldn't even notice him.
