Dante is highly outclassed - he's a sprinter, not a marathon runner. He has no long-distance running speed feats. It would be like a Russian song by Vladimir Vysotsky "I run 10000 meters like I run 500 and very soon I was out of breath" (not very poetic translation, yes, but gives the idea). So I admit that my favorite char here comes last - good speed feats, but all those speed feats are not race/marathon type speed feats.

I'm honestly not sure what qualifies Samus and Dante for this. They're basically non-factors from what I can tell. I love both of these characters, but I'm not sure what they've done to even be considered for this.

Hm, I didn't realize Archie Sonic was so retardedly fast. My bad.

Also, Samus can run at hypersonic speeds and has an adavantage no one else has, she can run through the planet's hills, meaning her path is the shortest.
