Not when the entire Infinity Watch and Thanos couldn't beat him in TP. As well as Odin having trouble with him in TP

Despero's possession may be different than normal TP, or you may be right.

I don't see how Despero would even get the opportunity to lock onto Thor in some attempt to possess him. He would have more than a hand full with Thanos. Mongul isn't taking Thor in beast mode, and i don't see Despero beating Thanos.
