I wasn't particularly fond of the first Cap either. It was true to Cap's Origin, I'll give it that. But found it to be kind of slow without any great action sequences.

Really.....really?...........😐

the movie is rated lower because its slow paced & Didn't have great action sequences, That's just a stupid reason.

Nah, i dont get it.
Pym FTW said weak, and it was hardly that.
I think it was a linchpin in the Marvel film franchise, really.
Iron Man and Hulk came out neck and neck, and Hulk didnt do so well. Thor came out after a solid Iron Man 2, and Cap after Thor, which did well. If Cap had been a Hulk level movie i personally think the Avengers movie would have been in trouble.
Also, the Cap movie pulled everything together. It was Cap's SS Serum unsuccessfully duplicated, leading to the Hulk.
It was Stark's dad helping create him in WWII.
It was he who dealt with the Asgardian tesseract before it became property of SHIELD then Loki, tying in Thor to everything.
I think minimally monetarily and definitely storyline wise, it was one if the stronger movies.

With the action sequences, Personally i think they were trying to capture the action of the old pulp stories similar to what the Indiana Jones movies had.

I actually think i read that, back then.

You really believe the first Cap movie is the weakest of the franchise?

And thanks to all for the cool links. Cant wait till next week!

I also thought it was particularly bad, beaten only by Iron Man 2 and 3.

Read what?

That the action/movie was trying to capture the Indiana Jones feel.

Obviously a great plot and dialogue and acting is all essential towards entertainment but it is a superhero movie end of the day. So you can't job us on the action, that's what went wrong with Superman Returns.

On the other hand TDK movies don't exactly give us spectacular action but I thoroughly enjoyed them. So.... Perhaps I need some spectacular action sequences from Cap, because it had something lacking in it's plot/story.

But let's face it, great action sequences is never going to hurt a superhero movie. That took Cap 2 to another level from the first one.

I thought Cap 1 was a great movie

To each their own.

Big misconception guys, joss whedon is sparsely involved with this show. The most he's done is direct the pilot and assist with planning the season's overarching plot.

If Joss Whedon was heavily involved, like he was with buffy, Angel and firefly, this show would've been awesome. Problem is, he's too busy with Avengers 2.

Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tanchaeron, the actual writers for the show, are average/mediocre.

^ Yep, I've known that for a while. Joss only makes Epic Tv Series.

👆

Yes he does.
I 'm one of the few who enjoyed the entire season, do, i'm looking forward to S2, now that the need for discretion is over...

The season premier for AOS came out this week and it's a massive improvement from last season's season premier. Unfortunately, the ratings were down 58% from a season ago. Either those first 5-6 episodes did a lot of damage for maybe people are disappointed pre-established Marvel characters wont show up regularly.

It would be nice to see a Marvel character regularly in the vein of Arrow and Flash. Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones need to hurry up and get here!

I heard

Spoiler:
Mockingbird
will join the cast but im not sure she is a known character without a Renner cameo to set her up.

I'd say replace Sky asap she is a glaring weakness.

skye is fine. Replacing her is the dumbest thing the show could possibly do, now that they've spent an entire season developing her story.

I say, just add some more interesting characters to the team as regulars. Hell, Firefly had 9 regular team members. The show doesn't need to limit Coulson's team to 4 or 5 people, make it 10 people.

Also, I doubt Renner will cameo. He has an incredibly busy schedule and doesn't seem enthusiastic about his hawkeye role. I hope he does though.

She is a horrible actress bordering on Kristen Stewart level, slide her to the background for a while.

Sure, slide her to the background. Replacing her would be a cheap move.

And besides, I think a lot of the Skye hate is exaggerated. She's a fine actress. Most problems with her season 1 performance can be attributed to a god awful script.

Expanding Coulson's team and minimizing Skye's role would be fine with me though.
