In regards to the anime what's the deal?

Ho-oh has never legitimately been in a movie and has made cameo appearances in the anime.

Is he that important that they want to hold out on him til later?

Have the writers or Nintendo ever hinted they have something big planned for him?

Ho-Oh appeared in the first episode of the anime actually.

Yeah I know. When I said in regards to the anime I meant like actually doing more than cameos like these that I mentioned in the OP.

Seem they're holding off on Ho-oh, because it was the first legendary that started Ash off his journey, so it better be a BIG cameo!!!!

I don't know. I actually prefer for Legendaries to have a subtle role, like this, over starring in a movie.

Yeah legendaries are far too common now. I'm glad Ho-Oh is being kept semi-sacred.
