Malgus only got one physical hit in and it was as insignificant as Zallow's. Malgus forced Zallow back in the start, Zallow forced back Malgus in the end.Not seeing the disparity.
Except, Malgus's kick sent Zallow flying backwards. He also sent Zallow threw concrete with a force push. But, of course, the big one is when he stabs Zallow.
And forcing people back is pretty meaningless it just typically means you are on the defensive, nothing more or less.

The fights closer in the book and they're described as near equals.
True, the book does change the duel. But I favor what happened in the trailer. If only because it is far cooler. Not sure which version is more canon however.
😬 Malgus doesn't throw his lightsaber until after Zallow kills the Sith. Perhaps, were the Sith not there Zallow may have doged it a differnt way. Regardless, Malgus still took down Zallow is a short fight. Seems pretty clear Zallow was quite outmatched.
The trailer was released first, the book second, and the cutscene third.
