Sidious is teh best sith evah! He blitzed teh 3 masters! He siphoned energies from Byss! He force stormed a fleet!!

But TBCH, I usually don't bother with arguments involving Sidious. Although just to throw in my 2 cents, I think he has more raw power (didn't need amulets and what not), has shown better telekenetic applications, is probably faster, and is overall just a more skilled swordsmaster.

As in the Bane vs Kun thread, this could go either way.

Nah. Sidious is more powerful than he ever was at this stage.

Kun was TK'd into a wall by Odan-urr. Sidious was TK'd over a desk by Yoda. Clearly, lowballing it, this is an even fight.

Eh. I've never really been convinced of that. I've read a good argument for him being weaker.

RotS Sidious does have better feats tho IMO, 'cept for teh force storm.

I think its said his mastery of the darkside had increased, not that he was flat out a better combatant than ever.

It's said he was, "In greater control of the darkside than ever," and he, "studied the dark side of the force to become more powerful."

His saber technique doesn't seem to have improved any, but he does have the force storms and such (though I will, of course, note that even his mastery of storms wasn't yet total, they were hard to control thingies and required concentration).

I'd personally think personal combat remained largely unchanged, exoteric force knowledge increased (though I bet he wishes he'd learned Dark Transfer rather than Force Storm ^^).

Though I do give DE or pre-death Sidious the win. Exar Kun is strong, but Ulic in his time was able to draw. He wasn't as overpowering as Sids was.

...Except that Exar was basically still a padawan?

This is probably gonna come as a complete and total shock to everyone involved, so I would encourage all of you to brace yourselves...

But the winner of this thread is definitely Palpatine.

He already had his saber-win over Vodo and his Sith training under Freedon Nadd at the point he fought Ulic. He didn't gain any training after, he was just announced to be Ulic's master.

Yeah, but then Kun started to become an immense practitioner of sith sorcery and what not.
