Yep, he was born and brought up on Sakaar, slaying monsters was second nature to him but, he's still a kid and still not the sort to go beserker like Wolverine or Thor.

Some of it might be a result of the fight with Surfer, where in the end his own mother admonished him and humbled him, but he's not the kind of ruthless fighter that Hiro Kala was.
