Technicality wars.

M'kay, since no one brought it up yet due likely to SSB WiiU's release, I'll take it upon myself to bring up the second major bit of DLC for the game, the Twilight Princess pack.

Needless to say, chief among the DLC is the inclusion of #1 sidekick/princess/bae Midna's true form as the latest playable character. I was still hoping for Hero's Shade first and foremost, but she was my immediate second choice, although aside from thinking of it along the same lines as Zelda and Sheik being seperate characters, I had kinda thought just not utilizing her as a weapon was a bit asinine. Goes without saying I jumped right the **** on her (figuratively speaking) the first chance I had. Suffice to say she's like a more straightforward Cia-esque character with a few vastly larger scale attacks and is generally much faster to the call with her magic attacks. Pretty much every attack of hers is a callback to TP be it with one of her spells she used in the story, or just summoning one of TP's many "props" that she had used her warping magic on (the Bridge is surprisingly more effective than it looks). Ironically enough, she's probably the most accessible new playstyle the DLC has.

As for the other weapon, The Dominion Rod, I think it can be most directly compared to Lana's Summoning Gate in its gimmick. The major difference being that the Dominion Rod is actually good--No, don't bother telling me how fun it is to ride on Argorok for all of fifteen seconds. The Summoning Gate has an easy enough approach to get the hang of, the weapon remains a clunky, slow, and deceptively weak playing reminder of what an annoyingly gratuitous Pop-Idol pastiche Lana is, whereas the Dominion Rod was probably the most friggin' confusing weapon I've used yet, but never once found it impractical or had complaints on its effectiveness, and Zelda herself has a comparatively endearingly dainty demeanor when using it.

And of course the Spinner, which was technically not part of the DLC, but I managed to get anyway thanks to buying the Link Amiibo at the SSBU midnight launch. It's about as hectic as it looks in all the screenshots and whatnot, and I think one of the ideas is to keep the Spinner copies out to keep enemies at bay to rack up your combo and K.O. count. While I still think Epona's my favorite of Link's new DLC weapons, I ain't put the Spinner down very often since then.

And speaking of Amiibo functionality, I still think the Shulk Amiibo should be compatible and give Impa a Monado skin for her sword.

so this has me worried

Amped for that lady Link

People still care about Hyrule Warrior's?

Given the new content it'll be having, yeah? Is that a problem?

It is my favorite wii u game...

Damned if you do...

😂

Edit: Now I'll admit, Linkle isn't how I'd want a female Link either. But she seems to be bitching about the fact that Linkle is just a female version of the character when she expressly supported the idea beforehand!

That's not what she's saying

Then please clarify it for me.

All I see is that she wants a female version of Link and when Nintendo creates one she bitches that they are making a female version of a male character.

Will do!

What a lot of folks are hoping for is that one day we'd get Link - the main character of a traditional Legend of Zelda game, to be a female. This would be a simple change, as Link is already a changeable name in game, and is a silent protagonist. Nothing would change, save for Link being female. It would be an empowering move, and would be seamless.

Where folks are disappointed - and in this case, Anita, - is a character that was created as a separate entity from Link (So not the REAL Link) in a game that isn't actually the Main Zelda story, but instead a hack and slash dynasty warriors type game. They even change the name of the character to a particularly and embarassingly "Cute female" name. Because the name LINK - screams Male (This is sarcasm, as Link is not a real name. None of that nonsense is.)

So instead of a Main Character Legend of Zelda title having a female protagonist and hero of the story, we get side character "girl buddy" with a "girl buddy" name.

Yep, this is lame everytime it gets pulled off, but at least as shameful as Linkle is, it hasn't happened in a canon game, so Nintendo is dodging that bullet (for the time being...).

However, a bulky blond in a swimsuit that happens to be named Samos would be perfect for Metroid.

Fair enough.

Yay!
