^Unknown. Smaug's durability hasn't yet been put to the test, considering metal arrows and swords are the best he's tanked so far.

Though for comparison's sake, the far younger, much smaller and vastly weaker Drogon(one of Balerion's descendants) was tough as hell to penetrate with a spear, and his innards melted the blade once it managed to pierce his hide. Suggesting that the ASoIaF dragons' internal organs are like boiling lava.

Drogon was around the size of a horse when this happened. In sharp contrast, Balerion was big enough to swallow a whole mammoth in his jaws during his prime.

If both have novel feats, Smaug wins though. On account of actually having some okay feats.

Balerion slightly melted a tower. Smaug shattered and smote the side of the Lonely Mountain.

Balerion also burnt over a thousand men during the Conquest of Westeros. Smaug was also taken out by Bard. Also, Harrenhal.

Burning over a thousand men during an entire military campaign frankly doesn't impress me. Smaug devastated the city of Dale and Erebor in a day.

Brother he took a lot more then that in the movie, I don't think he was actually even hit with an arrow or touched with a actaully sword in the move..he was trolled by dwarves with everything but those two items and withstood the beatings..

A city of largely civilians and weakass midgets whom even a tranny could beat up. On the other hand, those were battlelusted and well-conditioned Lannister Bannermen whom were reduced to crispy corpses by Balerion.

Dwarves are all superhuman. A single dwarven soldier would run a train on most knights in Westeros.

Balerion is quite a bit bigger but Smaug is at least as strong in physical strength and firepower and is much smarter, can roar so loudly he can crack buildings.
