You're using street level characters as an indication of what we should think of fights. I think anyone with common sense can come to the conclusion that Batman fighting Wonder Woman and Superman should not happen and shouldn't be used as an indication of power level. Now when we get into the upper tier with people like Diana and Clark, their showings against cosmics are possible because even though Diana have those 1 or 2 showings of fighting Bruce, she have untold amount of showings fighting upper tier beings like Darkseid, Superman, Cheetah, Black Adam, Lanterns, Shaggyman, Doomsday, etc...
Her AVERAGES (which is what we look at) far outweighs her low showings. Batman is a human that is on a team of gods, of course he is going to have great showings just like Cap who is also on a team of Gods. They have to be relevant. We still dont use those showings to discredit Heralds. It just takes a little bit of common sense to know this. We bring up Diana fighting Clark and you mention her not killing Bruce. Please tell me you see a difference here? We mention Diana fighting Darkseid, Powergirl, Supergirl, Shaggyman, etc... and you mention Bruce. It's obvious trolling. You're using Batman as a pedestal to downplay a great character.

Anyway, I've said my piece, fights and feats both count, but the more showings a character has, the less fights count because they start interacting with other characters more. Their popularity starts giving them plot armour. Spidey starts hitting heralds of Galactus. Batman fights WW. Cap fights Hulk.

I have seen Wonder Woman taking hits from heavy hitters since the 40s. But here you are saying she can't take hits.
Since you talk about feats. And you say that the outcome of fights between the same characters can vary between writers. Let me tell you that feats of environmental havoc can also vary wildly between writers. Depeding on the story, more than once the feats of characters can fluctuate. BUT, it is also true that hierarchy between characters tend to exist as well. And Wonder Woman has never been shown as a character unable to fight sg.

Why averages, and not full capacity as the rules say? I'm not the one who made those rules.....
I'm not discrediting heralds. My point is that using averages means Lanterns are weak against bricks. Batman (and streets in general) are strong against heralds. You've used the former many a time. My point is that now you're ignoring heralds being weak against streets, which is the very same line of logic.
