Seriously, the 17 minutes of footage is blowing people awayhttp://www.cinemablend.com/m/new/Marvel-Screened-17-Minutes-Guardians-Galaxy-What-We-Saw-43785.html
IGN wasn't all that impressed sadly. I guess we will see soon.
I personally can't wait for this.
As for the Stones...
Well, the Tesseract is supposed to be the Space Stone. Not sure which one the Aether is supposed to be. Considering what it was doing to earth, maybe the Reality one?
But the one featured in Guardians is going to be the Power Stone:

The Tesseract is the Space gem and the Aether is the Power gem.
I'm still on the fence about whether or not Loki's staff housed the Mind gem. It just doesn't seem logical for such a precious and infinitely powerful gem to be so casually used, and having to make contact to utilize it. If Loki had the actual Mind gem, he could mind rape every single being in the universe while taking a shit on the toilet.

Yeah, it'd be lame as shit if Tony's chest reactor > Mind Gem. 😆
Especially if you look at what the Aether and Tesseract were capable of.

Watchmen had an odd choice of soundtrack too.
With Watchmen the soundtrack was supposed to be contrapuntal to a degree. As in the music playing kind of contrasts or contradicts the emotions being visually depicted.
Almost like showing Holocaust footage and using "What a Wonderful World", by Louis Armstrong, as a soundtrack.
Joss Whedon actually played a substantial role in the production of Guardians of the Galaxy! I'm super excited

I don't know much about GOTG...I juz feel that the choice of music seems to clash with the scenes...do you listen to the music or listen to the dialogue of the characters?Watchmen had an odd choice of soundtrack too.
According to James Gunn, the film's soundtrack is composed mainly of 1970s-80s songs as they are part of Quill's memories of Earth: "The music and is one of those touchstones that we have to remind us that Quill is a real person from planet Earth who's just like you and me, except that he's in this big outer space adventure."

Uh... He is like 35 years old...no time travel needed.
His age is irrelevant.
I'm just trying to figure out the timeline...if the music is based on Quill's memories then how far after the 80's is the film supposed to be set in?
Does it correspond with The Avengers timeline?
All of the Marvel movies have been happening around the same time except for the first Captain America. Everything else has been in current time and events have overlapped. So he was probably born in the early 80's, and is now in space in current time. Even Thanos and the Collector show up, both of whom made cameos in Avengers and Thor 2.
