Eternity vs Death vs Oblivion

Very interesting thread Guy, I wonder how it will go?

Hope good friend. Taking Death

IMHO : draw.

It should b

The members of the cosmic compass are supposed to be equals

I would say Oblivion...he represents the end of everything and should be no possible way to destroy him.

Oblivion wins.

Oblivion.

Existence destroys Oblivion. There cannot be nothingness when there is something. Eternity ftw.

Shhh. Stop making sense.

too many references to eternity as the greatest of the abstracts to not say him, though though perhaps should be equals.

You cant completely destroy Oblivion though. But a universe can die which we have seen happen many time.

Eternity = Oblivion > Death

Eternity = Oblivion = Death = Infinity

And that's me being generous.

We already saw what happens when Infinity fought Oblivion. He couldn't beat her despite having the odds in his favor.

We saw an aspect of Oblivion(Chaos King) absorb nearly 99% of the multiverse/Eternity into himself before he was stopped--and Eternity flat-out stated that he was powerless to stop it:

So based on that, I'd have to side with Oblivion here.

And we're supposed to just take Oblivion's word for it that CK is a "mere" aspect of him when ALL of Oblivion couldn't beat Infinity despite having multiple advantages in that fight. And as stated on panel, Eternity = Infinity. And if he couldn't beat Infinity...........

So the admitted liar (stated by himself on panel) and dimwitted buffoon (made a fool of by his lackey multiple times) is telling the truth regarding CK and himself? Whatever......

If you do not have legitimate(key word) evidence which suggests that Oblivion's claim was a ruse, then yes, I will absolutely take his word(and by proxy, the writer's word) over your completely unsubstantiated opinion.

Aside from Oblivion's statement in that comic, there is also a plethora of evidence from Chaos War itself to support the notion that CK=Oblivion. Observe...

"[The Chaos King's] very existence blatantly defies every law of the universe. He will not stop until all of reality is consumed. He is the end of all that is. Entropy. OBLIVION.":

"The Chaos King is the darkness and chaos that existed before existence itself. He is an anti-god. The void against which I [Eternity] am defined.":

"Chaos King is far more than a mere God. Indeed, he was the whole universe before the beginning of everything... And he longs to return to that condition. His aim is nothing less than the destruction of all of reality, piece by piece, until he is once again the only thing in existence.":

Same coin, Oblivion's been embodying the exact same concept(s) since his very first appearance in the 80's...

"You have come to the one who embodies non-existence. You have come to Oblivion. Before the multiverse was, I was. At the end of all things, I wait. I am the void..":

Oblivion's bio confirms his conceptual role:

And his most recent depiction further solidifies the above:

Point being: even if we wouldn't have been given any further information regarding the relationship between CK and Oblivion, it would have still been rather easy to connect the dots between them for ourselves, given that they embody the exact same concept(s). Fortunately for us, however, we were outright TOLD that CK=an aspect of Oblivion's infinitude:

...So no theorizing is required. Although I'm sure you'll just ignore all of the above, so I don't know why I'm even wasting my time. 馃檪

So Oblivion > CK = Eternity based on character statements right?

So why when Oblivion GOT INTO AN ACTUAL FIGHT, he couldn't beat Infinity (despite having multiple things in his favor) who is really just Eternity (two sides of the same coin)?

I do not believe Oblivion's 'power'(or w/e)>CK's, if that's what your implying--please refrain from putting words in my mouth. Nothingness cannot be>nothingness.

I do believe Oblivion's scope of influence>CK's(initial) scope of influence, however.
