Growing up

As I've grown older I've noticed how my taste in food has changed quite a lot, here are some foods I hated as a child but love now....

1. Tomato soup
2. Indian food - or anything spicy hot hot hot!
3. Pepper on anything
4. Sprouts
5. Cabbage
6. Plum tomato's
7. Brown bread
8. Rice
9. Omlette's
10. Seafood
11. Wotsits
12. Cadbury's Fruit & Nut

Its strange because I still have some of my strange food obsessions from childhood though, like....

1. When eating flavoured sweets, I'll empty the pack/bag and seperate them into flavour groups so that I don't end up with all one flavour left.

2. I still eat baked beans whenever possible, I just can't get enough of them.

3. Ditto with mashed potato's, I think I may be of Irish decent.

4. This is the strangest of all and Mrs.MM always laughs about it and even tells people....Whenever I eat a meal, I always leave a little bit of everything for last, i.e. if I was eating fish, chips and beans, I'd have a chip left, a bit of fish and a few beans. Thus the last fork-full would have a bit of everything on it.

Weird, no?

I'm trying to think, but my taste is pretty much the same. Apart from I can't stand chocolate and sugary things anymore.

Huh well i'm still getting to that stage but i still like wierd stuff as I did when I was younger~
Sprouts
Phili (soft cheese that smells like .... ugh)
Frapè
Crepès
(Can't stand the smell of em but they still taste good)

my taste buds have definately moved on, but you are correct about the beans thing, in fact my son commented today that I eat beans more than he does.

I do like Red wine and I remember still not liking that when I was about 18. And Curries really really hot curries.

But you are STILL young, Minxy! Though not THAT young, obviously, no question of that...

Tomatoes and spicy foods.

lol, when you grow older, your taste buds and brain work differently so maybe thats whats causing it, no?

I used to not like liverworst...but for some odd reason I like it now

There's some more....

Strong cheeses - Stilton, smoked etc. I love them all now.

Red wine - hated it but now its all I'll drink in the house.

And Raz is right about sweets, I really can't eat too many now without feeling ill. Does anyone else seperate flavoured sweets like me? I'd like to think its not all that weird.

no..i do the axact same thing, IF i like everything in the plate.
If not, i'm sure to leave for the last fork a bit of everything of what i like.

I try to eat the things I like the least first and save my favourite to last, this ensures I will eat it all too.

Yup, I do that aswell.

yeah...but when i'm really not hungry...this tactic doesn't always work.
Cause i sometimes end up not being able to eat my favourite. 🙁

- passage from the 'art of eating' - 😄

I don't wanna grow up..... Being 17 is kinda fun... if you forget abt the stress of schoolwork, housework, actual paid work, holiday fees, driving lessons, trying to look good, having a social life, attempting to keep parents happy... Actually, on second thoughts, role on the diploma!!

unfortunatley the stress will increase proportional with the age.
I'm yet to see that on myself

What about the colour/flavour coding of sweets though people, am I a freak?

Yes Mech you appear to be a freak. Happy now?

though you didn't ask me...I'm happy now

Good, if you're happy Jules, then we too are happy. 🙂

never cared for sea food when I was younger, still dont and Mech you are indeed weird.
