Kao have superior swordsmanship skills, an advantage. Not sure which one is superior Force-user here though since both have decent showings in this aspect.

Nope, Quinlan Vos stomped him. Mainly since Volfe's lightsabre skills suck rotten sludge.

Maybe you should actually read the comic. Volfe casually defeated Vos. It was only after some other Jedi reached out to help Vos that he won.
