All feats from Legends up to present Cannon i,e the one Maul killed are valid.

I think malak's arrogance and ego might give Qui-gon the edge, as malak wouldn't find the Jedi Master a challenge and well he'd be in for a surprise, Qui-gon wins with mild difficulty. Malak is considered one of the most powerful and formidable duelist of his time, still qui-gon wins this.

No. Malak's force abilities will blow off Jinn from the start, and Drew implies Malak's lightsaber skills are even better then his force.
