I think it's a really retarded move. They could have just made an EU film that not only solidified the canon of the EU and pleased SW fans, but also introduced new audiences to the EU. Instead they want to create a different canon with these new films, which to me reads of laziness. These new films better be Oscar-worthy epics, because if they are like the mindless ST reboots, SW is eternally phucked.

Compared to the emotionally and thematically complex prequels, lol?
