What would it do to him?

Doc seems to be a sentient universal quantum field. He exists everywhere, like the Force, but just manifests physical bodies in certain locations. If his physical body can be disintegrated, it will be obliterated in the black hole, but then he can just generate a new one.

Good point. But it would take him a short while to physically manifest himself again, no?

Hm. Yeah maybe. But he was able to physically interact with objects. At least when he wanted to it seems.
